Six Minutes–A great resource for honing your public speaking skills

There’s an excellent site on the web that you need to bookmark for reference on several aspects of giving successful speeches and more–Six Minutes.

The site at http://sixminutes.dlugan.com/ is a treasure trove of tips and tricks and discussions on public speaking. It’s maintained by Andrew Dlugan, an award-winning public speaker and speech evaluator who has much to offer through this outlet. The collection is so extensive, he has started a Flashback Friday series this year. Every Friday, he picks a memorable article from his article archive, “dust it off, shine on it, and consider it from a new perspective.”

For example, today’s article reaches back to November 2011 to relearn six common communication barriers and how to avoid them. Other topics in this flashback series are How to Use Quotes in Your Speech, Audience Analysis, Secrets to Achieve Your Public Speaking Resolutions, Speech Critique, Speech Pauses, etc.

Give it a whirl. You’ll be glad you did.
